Live a long and healthy life: With our cancer monitoring check-ups, we help monitor the status of your cancer with periodic physical examinations, laboratory tests, and imaging studies designed to detect cancer recurrences as well as possible new cancers. The program allows early treatment to increase the likelihood of a successful outcome.
We often employ the following imaging studies in cancer check-ups:
- Chest, abdomen, and pelvis computer tomography (CT) scans
- Positron emission tomograhy (PET) whole body scans
- Integrated PET-CT scans (used most often)
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans
- Bone scans
Most health insurance providers cover the cost of cancer check-ups and imaging studies; however, some restrictive policies do not cover the more expensive tests, such as PET scans. Consult your insurance provider for further details.
